Quite a few collectors like having these factory error pieces within their collection to show "what could happen" - while Royal Doultons quality control was very good - little factory errors do occur

the design was later changed to the Bird with its tail moulded flat on the girl's hand - presumably due to minimising moulding and firing difficulties
