Description
Saw Whet Owl with Pine and Fungi (Mug 1) bird mugThese tiny inquisitive birds only weigh about three and a half ounces. They are some of the most numerous owls in North America, but tend to be very reclusive. Here they are perched on a pine with a colorful pop of fungi nearby. This piece was created from a wheel thrown body with added sculptural elements. Color is layered throughout the making process at every stage in order to achieve a lively depth in the surface. Gold luster accented. Blushed
I think that the tiny hole is almost just part of it's personality
Listed as second because these bottles were originally designed to hold olive oil- unfortunately I misgaged the size of the top so they do not fit the spouts
*Note- first three pictures show the planter you will receive
thus is slightly discounted
The porcelain clay is now pressed into the mold to capture the original detail
The turquoise wash glaze leaves evidence of brush marks appearing as a watery surface
with it's iconic weeping willows gracing the edge of Cayuga Lake
the narrow neck splays flowers beautifully and can hold couple fresh buds
and I never tire of watching them monopolizing the sunflower stalks
Mug depicts three adult sandhill cranes
Teapot holds about 36 oz
a warm area and little water
